A former search consultant who writes for the room she used to sit in.
I'm Maggie Walton. I spent years inside executive search, reading senior-level materials and watching how boards, search firms, and hiring committees actually decide who moves forward. That vantage point is the foundation of this practice.

On the search side, I read thousands of resumes, board CVs, and executive profiles. The pattern was consistent: strong leaders were passed over not for lack of capability, but because their materials never made the case. Scope was implied rather than shown. Achievements were buried under duties. The reader was left to guess.
I started this practice to sit on the other side of that table. When I write for you, I am writing for the people I used to be in the room with — the partner shortlisting for a committee, the Chair reviewing board candidates, the CEO deciding who to meet.
My work begins with a conversation about where you are, what you are aiming for, and what a decision-maker in that market needs to see. From there I build the professional narrative — the through-line of your career, the achievements that prove it, and the value proposition that makes your candidacy clear — and then write the documents around it.
Everything is written by hand, personally. I read what you send, ask questions until the story is accurate, and stay with the engagement through review and refinement. I do not make claims your experience does not support, and I do not publish client work or feedback without written permission.
The practice is deliberately small and one-to-one. That keeps the standard high and the work specific, which is the only way this kind of writing holds up in a competitive search.
Four commitments that shape every engagement.
Positioning before writing
Nothing is written until the strategy is clear: what you want next, who is deciding, and which parts of your experience matter to them.
Written individually
Every document is written by hand for one person. No templates, no auto-generated content, no recycled language.
Evidence over adjectives
Scope, scale, outcomes, and measurable results carry the argument — not self-description.
Confidential by default
Career history, documents, and personal information stay private. Nothing is published without written permission.
